December brings many things to different people. It's a time for religious and family celebrations and with that, a variety of emotions come into play; joy, sadness, stress.  It's also a time to reflect on the accomplishments of this year and start planning for the upcoming year. This week let's talk about celebrations.

Every day is a gift, not a guarantee, no matter the holiday you celebrate or the rituals you believe in. Celebrate the miracle of being alive today, of having the chance to love and be loved. -- Jennifer Williamson

I love that quote!  It's so important to cherish the fact that you are alive and free to celebrate as you choose with the people you love.  That fact alone is a present in and of itself.

Today's Coaching Challenge

Take a look at how you celebrate your holidays.  Is it the same year in and year out even though some of the original reasons for things no longer apply?  Is the celebration as festive and fun as it used to be or is it more like "this is the way we have always done it"?

Changing holiday celebrations and traditions even a little bit can sometimes be what will re-energize the event.  It can open the event to new possibilities that might even be more enjoyable.

Action to take

Is there any part of your holiday celebrating that you would like to change up a little?  What is one thing that you could do that would bring you more pleasure while maintaining your family traditions?

 Always supporting you,                                                                                                                                                                                                  Jan
