As indicated in this month's newsletter, overwhelm can manifest in several different ways: physical, psychological, social, or spiritual.  This weeks Java will deal with how overwhelm can manifest in the physical realm.

"Overwhelmed?  Try the STOP technique:  Stop, pause what you're doing; Take a slow deep breath; Observe your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations; Proceed with a one-thing focus"--Anon

When we are overwhelmed one of the ways it can show up is through a physical manifestation such as nail-biting, rapid breathing, poor eating habits, etc.  These can all be signs that you are overwhelmed either by events in your life or the feeling that too much is coming to you at one time.

Today's Coaching Challenge

If you are feeling overwhelmed because you have a lot going on all the time how is that showing up in your life?  Is it one of the things mentioned above or perhaps body aches or clumsiness? 

Awareness is one of the first steps to making a change. 

Action to take

The next time you start to feel overwhelmed take a moment to notice what triggered it and how it shows up for you.  That will allow you to get a better perspective of the cause so you can stop the overwhelm sooner than later.
