As indicated in this month's newsletter, overwhelm can manifest in several different ways: physical, psychological, social, or spiritual.  This week's Java will deal with how overwhelm can manifest in the social realm.

"You can't pour from an empty cup.  Take care of yourself first."--Anon

If the way you deal with being overwhelmed falls into the category of social then you may find yourself neglecting your own needs such as your personal hygiene.  You may have inappropriate boundaries with others or turn to substance abuse as an escape. Each of these could be a stand-alone article so for this Java I will deal with inappropriate boundaries.

Today's Coaching Challenge

Due to excessive demands made on you at work have you allowed your clients to control your schedule?  Are you still taking calls or checking emails after hours?

Remember the quote above  "You can't pour from an empty cup.  Take care of yourself first.".  Even if your client has decided to work 24/7 that doesn't mean you have to follow in their footsteps.  This is your life, not your clients.

Action to take

What one thing would you decide to change today even if it was only for new clients?
