This month is about creating more balance in your life between your needs and the needs of others.  There are several facets to balance, and this week is about the needs of others and the time you spend with them.

"As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, or for helping yourself, the other for helping others." --Maya Angelou

Last week you rated how much value you place on your own needs versus the needs of others. Unless you are living in a cave, you will need to rely on other people for many things in your life.  Just as John Donne said, "No man is an island, entire of itself, every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main."

Today's Coaching Challenge

If you found that you spend more time on yourself and your needs, you might consider how you can turn some of that energy into helping others.

The options for helping others are unlimited.  It could be as simple as working with your child on their homework, helping a co-worker solve a problem, volunteering at your church or favorite charity, or giving a smile to a stranger.  The opportunity to help another is right outside your door.

Action to take

What could you do today to help someone; to look past yourself and be there for someone else?
