This month's topic is about time and how we seem to think we don't have enough of it.  Every person on this planet has the same amount of time and some people seem to get everything done that is needed while others struggle, become frustrated, and overwhelmed.  There are things you can do today to change your perspective about time.  This week we are looking at taking a moment to pause.

Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy. -- Guillaume Apollinaire

Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Han suggests taking a deep breath before answering the phone.  You can also take a moment before eating to look at the food, enjoy the smells, and savor the meal you are about ready to have.  Sit in your car a few minutes before entering the house after work to think about your day, shake off anything unpleasant, and anticipate the welcome you will receive when you walk through the door.

Today's Coaching Challenge

Think through your average day and notice whether or not you ever pause to reflect and appreciate the life that you are experiencing.  Wouldn't it feel great to stop long enough to notice everything that is good about your life?

So many people, especially in the US, are in such a hurry to get somewhere or do something that they can forget that there is a lot to experience along the way.  You've probably heard the saying that "It's not about the destination it's about the journey".

Action to take

What have you taken for granted because you didn't take the time to notice what was really happening? Who can you thank, acknowledge, or love today if only you took the time to pause and notice what they bring to your life?
