This month the topic is Love.  It's such an important subject that I might have to discuss it in more detail in future months.  This February we are looking at Love of Self, Love of Others, and Love of Nature.  Let's first look at your Love of Self.

Love yourself unconditionally, just as you love those closest to you despite their faults. -- Les Brown

Have you ever wondered why you can love your friends and family knowing that they are not perfect, yet you can easily beat yourself up because you have flaws?  That just doesn't make any sense and you probably know it at an intellectual level but haven't accepted it emotionally.  You can learn to love yourself more with a little patience and practice.

Today's Coaching Challenge

One way to start the process of having more self-love is to stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes, and say "Even though I am a work in progress, I love and accept myself as I am today".  Repeat this process daily.

Yes, this will probably feel very strange if you have never done this before, but when was the last time you looked yourself in the eyes and acknowledged that you are okay?  Your answer may be "Never" yet you tell others all the time that you love them.  You deserve that same acknowledgment.

Action to take

So you have acknowledged that you are a work in progress.  Make a list of 3 things (no more than 5) that you would like to learn or improve upon.  Then pick 1 thing from the list to start working on today.  Be gentle with yourself because learning something new or making a change takes time.  Then as you do your mirror exercise you will realize that you truly are a work in progress.

Love yourself today just as you are!

Always supporting you,                                                                                                                                                                                                  Jan
